Nova Twins are taking the metal scene by storm! Nova Twins at Latitude.

If you don't know this electrifying duo, you're missing out, formed of the two superstars Amy Love, who extraordinarily is Nova twins’ vocalist and incredibly talented guitarist, and Georgia South who’s bass skills are unmatched. After the release of their second hit album ‘Supernova’. Nova twins are taking the metal scene by storm, with their genius use of pedals onstage reminiscent of a rebellious Ed Sheeran on steroids fused with their strong and powerful lyrics, Supernova homes some of their biggest singles, ‘Antagonist’ and ‘KMB’.
Sunday night at Latitude went out with a bang as Nova Twins headlined the Alcove, like most of the sets that weekend taking place in the sweatbox of that tent. Joined by long-time friend and drummer of Kid Kapichi, George Macdonald, (GMAC). Dust flew everywhere every single time a mosh pit was opened. However during their set the dust was almost unbearable, each song had a mosh opening up, the crowd was ruthless in the best way possible. My face, knees, and Demonias were all covered in a thick coat of dust but their performance made it worth it.
Admittedly this wasn't my first time seeing Nova Twins after the were on the bill of Bring me the horizons Malta weekender and performing at the NME awards, after being nominated for the big one, best band in the world and best UK Band, and their London headline show at Heaven nightclub, they never fail to put on a show. They are one of those bands that you have to see, at least once, maybe six times just to make sure.

Love explains that KMB is for anyone that ever gets annoyed at their significant other and details how the protagonist ‘accidentally kills their boyfriend’, KMB is all about empowerment, a song for healing a broken heart with anger and is for anyone who feels like they have been belittled by men who think they're ‘all that’. Standing for ‘killed my boyfriend' this song is definitely going to get your blood p[umping and anger completely fuelled even if your boyfriend has nothing wrong, it'll probably get his heart racing when you scream the lyrics too.

Supernova is also home to the powerful ‘Cleopatra’, Love explains that they wrote this songs after the Black lives Matter movement, where they spoke at Hastings Rally against Racism, ‘we wrote this song after blm, we wanted something positive to be born out of so much hatred shown across the months’. Cleopatra is incredibly empowering and compelling, a song that demonstrates the importance of black excellence, the teaching of black history but also solidarity. This song is so vital in the music scene but particularly in the metal and punk scenes where women and POC are often drowned out and ignored by old fashioned and out-dated mindsets.
After supporting the likes of metal innovators Bring me the horizon, punk pop-star YUNGBLUD, indie-rockstars Wolf Alice, and award winning electro-punk band Enter Shikari, Nova twins have completely made a name for themselves, off of their own talent and music. Supernova was acclaimed one of the best albums of the year, and with tracks like ‘Antagonist’ and ‘KMB’ it’s easy to see why.
